Events will take place in London during the weekend of 10-12 June 2016.

“The historic Mall in London will host one of the largest street parties the country has ever seen to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday next year.

Some 10,000 people will be treated to a classic British hamper lunch as they sit down to mark the monarch’s milestone, as well as her lifelong patronage of more than 600 charities and national organisations, Buckingham Palace have announced.

Big screens will be set up in Green Park and St James’s Park for the public to watch the show, which will follow a service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral on June 10 and Trooping the Colour on June 11 to mark the Queen’s official birthday

It is hoped the event will inspire communities around the world to hold their own street parties on the day.  Mr Phillips added: ‘As well as the main event on The Mall, we are also aiming to inspire as many people as we can to host street parties of their own for the direct benefit of their community.”
