Founded in 1896, Woking Choral Society is one of the UK’s leading amateur choirs, comprising some 80 auditioned members. Currently under the leadership of conductor Victoria Longdon, who was appointed as the choir’s sixth musical director in 2018, notable guest conductors have included Sir Edward Elgar (conducting a concert of his own works in 1920) and Woking resident Dame Ethel Smyth. The choir’s accompanist is Penny Davis.
