The Queen celebrates her Platinum Jubilee this year, the first British monarch to celebrate seventy years of service having acceded to the throne on 6 February 1952. The celebratory weekend in June will include the lighting of beacons all over the country and beyond, a big lunch to encourage local neighbourhood friendship and a pageant of 5000 with a background of Buckingham Palace. Our display at The Lightbox will feature items from earlier Coronations and Jubilees.
